WANTED: A SECOND-SCREEN APP THAT BRINGS REAL VALUE TO VIEWERS
Apple's app revolution and the mass adoption of connected TVs handed interactive TV a new lease of life. But the lack of context that has always been the main blocker for TV apps from reaching a tipping point is as relevant today as it was a decade ago. Can apps really bring value to TV viewers? I believe they can. And here's one example of an app that does just that! 'Easy Way Subtitles' is an iOs app that offers Brazilian TV viewers a multi lingual TV subtitling service in real-time. Although it does not actually run on the big screen (a big flaw in my opinion, but I suppose its' creators rather focus on the mass market…) you'll be hard to find an application that better compliments TV viewing, especially for an expat like myself!
